Head to head

Proxy Rotator vs Decodo

The short version: Decodo publishes tiers up to 100GB at $2.75/GB and pay as you go at $4.00/GB, with nothing listed at 750GB. The same 750GB is included here for $99.95.

Where Decodo is the better choice

Decodo has moved beyond raw proxies into a web data platform, with a scraping API, an AI parser and an MCP server. If you want those tools bundled rather than running your own stack, that is a real reason to pick them. Their pool is also larger than ours.

Where we are the better choice

Decodo is the provider formerly called Smartproxy, renamed in April 2025. Residential runs $3.75/GB at 3GB down to $2.75/GB at 100GB, which is good value among metered providers, and it is still metered.

If the deciding factor is cost per gigabyte at steady volume, the arithmetic favours us heavily. You get residential, datacenter, mobile and IPv6 on one gateway, country targeting, a rotating proxy API, and no conversation with a salesperson before your first request.

Migrating from Decodo specifically

Decodo endpoints are per country subdomains. Here it is one host with the country selected against your credentials, so a config that lists a dozen regional hostnames collapses to a single entry.

Session identifiers in the username also come out. Sticky behaviour is chosen by port on our gateway rather than by a session token in the credential string.

Both services speak standard HTTPS and SOCKS5, so the transport layer needs no changes. Authenticate by whitelisting your server IP or with a user and password. The setup guide covers the common tools.

Price, on the same workload

Each provider's own published pricing, at the plan that covers this volume.

Provider Published per GB Pool Plan covering 750GB Per month
Proxy Rotator $0.09 to $0.17 100M+ 25 threads, 750GB included $99.95
Decodo $2.75 to $4.00 115M+ No published plan at this volume On request

Read from each provider's own pricing page on 2 August 2026: Decodo. Where a provider publishes no plan at this volume, or no pool figure, we say so rather than estimating one. Our figure is generated from the live plan table, so it always matches what you are charged.

Decodo: Published tiers stop at 100GB. Was Smartproxy until April 2025.

FAQ

Proxy Rotator vs Decodo FAQ

Is Proxy Rotator cheaper than Decodo?
At this volume, yes. Decodo publishes no tier above 100GB, where the rate is $2.75/GB, so a 750GB month is priced on request. Our bandwidth is included with the plan, which works out at about $0.13/GB on the 25 thread plan and $0.09/GB at the largest tier, or $99.95 for that same 750GB.
Why is the difference so large?
Different pricing models rather than a discount. Most providers meter per gigabyte. We charge for concurrent connections and include bandwidth, so heavy usage does not scale the bill the same way.
Does Proxy Rotator have as many IPs as Decodo?
We run 100M+ IPs and Decodo advertises 115M+. For most scraping and automation workloads either is ample, but if raw pool size is your binding constraint, compare the figures for your target country.
How hard is it to migrate from Decodo?
It is a configuration change. Replace the gateway host, port and credentials in your tool. Both use standard HTTPS and SOCKS5, so your scraping code does not need rewriting.
When should I choose Decodo instead?
Decodo has moved beyond raw proxies into a web data platform, with a scraping API, an AI parser and an MCP server. If you want those tools bundled rather than running your own stack, that is a real reason to pick them. Their pool is also larger than ours.
Do I need to talk to sales?
Not with us. Start a plan from $24.95/mo and send your first request within minutes. No minimums, no procurement process.

Same proxies, a fraction of the bill

Residential, datacenter, mobile and IPv6 in one plan from $24.95/mo. Standard HTTPS and SOCKS5, so switching is a config change.
